Forsyth Park
A 30-acre park in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District, Forsyth Park offers visitors a place to relax and drink in the beauty. The park offers plenty to see, such as the Forsyth Fountain, war memorials, and a 300-year-old oak tree. You can picnic, dog walk, or go for a stroll. The walkways are shaded, and there is plenty of open space for a picnic. Just be sure to have your camera at the ready.
Savannah City Market
If you want to participate in one of the trolley or carriage tours of the city, you’ll more than likely start at City Market. An open-air market spread across four blocks the City Market is located in the Historic District. The area has tons of shopping, places to eat, and art galleries. If you need to rest from a day of walking, the heavily pedestrian market provides a chance to people watch and drink in the beautiful scenery.
Wormsloe Historic Site
Even if you’ve not heard of Wormsloe, you have probably seen plenty of pictures. The attraction contains a mile-long avenue leading to a plantation. Oak trees and Spanish moss encapsulate each side of the road. Wormsloe itself is one of the longest standing buildings in Savannah having been built by a colonial in 1733. Visitors can visit the ruins and walk through a small museum.
Tybee Island

If you want to make this an excursion, you can rent water skis and other equipment along the beach pier.
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
For the architecture buff, there is the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Situated in the Historic District, this building was constructed in 1799 by the first French colonists arriving in the area. That building was eventually torn down and in the 19th century, the expansive cathedral you see today was built in its place. The beauty of the church is reminiscent of the medieval churches from Europe. Still operating as a place of worship, you can attend Mass, and some visitors recommend it because of the atmosphere and talented choir.
River Street
If you want to combine an afternoon stroll with beautiful sights than you need to stop by River Street. The street runs alongside the Waterfront District and is home to souvenir shops, galleries, and restaurants.
