Elvis Presley is one of the greatest entertainers in American history. After Presley’s first single “Heartbreak Hotel” was released in 1956, not only did the song become an instant hit, it made Elvis Presley a household name. Over the course of his lustrous career, Elvis broke almost every musical record and sold millions of records to adoring fans.

Every Elvis Presley fan knows that Elvis lived at Graceland in Memphis, loved fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches and was crowned the “King of Rock ‘n Roll,” but only the true die hard fans know these 15 facts about The King:

1. Elvis has sold more than one billion albums since first launching his career in 1956.
2. Elvis was a natural brunette. He used hair dye to color his hair black.
3. Elvis only toured in North America and never performed a concert on any other continent.
4. Elvis loved blue so much he recorded 15 songs with the word “blue” in the song.
5. The King bought his Memphis, Tennessee home, Graceland, when he was just 22.
6. Elvis paid cash for Graceland.
7. After receiving multiple threats, Elvis performed with a pistol in each boot.
8. Nobody outside of the Presley family is allowed upstairs at Graceland without written permission
9. Elvis was not originally buried at Graceland. He was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery until October 3rd, 1977.
